Trump Organization Attempted to Bring In Nearly 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

The former president’s family business increased its hiring of foreign workers on temporary visas this year, even as his government was placing obstacles for other businesses wanting to do the same, an analysis published Thursday claimed.

Based on information from the US Department of Labor, the business aimed to bring in at least nearly 200 foreign workers in 2025 for short-term roles at the former president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The number of requests for temporary work visas covering workers including servers, clerks, cleaning staff, culinary employees and farm workers was the record filed by the company, and up from over 120 in the previous term, when his presidency ended.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that Trump had attempted to bring in more than 100 foreign employees for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, based on available data.

The disclosure coincides with a crackdown on immigration laws by his government that has included the introduction of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the activities of the 55 million people who possess American work permits; and tighter regulations for foreign students and reporters.

In total, the business sought to hire 566 foreign laborers over the five years the former president has been in the presidency, from his first term and during the upcoming year.

Notably, the former president was criticized by certain in the GOP this period for comments justifying the necessity for overseas employees when a business was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill certain positions.

“You can’t just say a country is entering, going to spend billions to build a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It isn’t feasible that well,” he told a host after she suggested that overseas employees lower the pay of American employees.

The White House refused a inquiry for response, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to an request for information.
