Free plus High-speed Internet Available to Everyone
British Airways stated that the free, “quick and reliable” wifi offering from Starlink is set to be offered for travelers in coach, business, or premium cabins as of the coming month.
Expanded Rollout Over Multiple Flight Operators
The umbrella company for the airline, the airline group, stated it had reached an partnership involving Starlink to offer internet services for over 500 jets within their operators, including Aer Lingus, the Spanish carrier, and the low-cost airline.
Uninterrupted Connectivity from Boarding to Arrival
British Airways explained that the implementation of this service formed part of a seven billion pound “modernization” program that will provide uninterrupted wifi coverage to travelers starting at boarding through landing, including when traveling above seas and remote regions.
Travelers may hook up multiple devices and won't need to require a special access code.
“Gamechanging for us as well as passengers, enhancing onboard service onboard with us through providing passengers continuous connectivity throughout the flight.”
Existing Connectivity Offerings
Restricted connectivity service is currently offered for British Airways travelers across nearly all of the airline's jets via the .air platform.
Participants in the airline's reward scheme can dispatch texts and plain-text messages onboard without paying, whereas travelers wishing to access audio, movies, or movies during their travel who are not flying in first class can expect to pay from £4.99 and £21.99 for one connectivity package.
