Much like the recent storm tore through the northern region the previous evening, Manchester City blew the visitors away at the their home ground. It was a emphatic three-nil triumph for Andrée Jeglertz’s side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their leadership claims as they reinforced their place at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Setbacks for Manchester United

This result marked back-to-back Women's Super League setbacks for Marc Skinner’s side for the first time since spring 2024, leaving them seven points off the league leaders with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.

The Red Devils' capability to balance domestic and European soccer with a small roster has been a widely debated issue since they qualified for the European competition. Overpowering Start
