FC Barcelona Ready for First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
